Brief Introduction to Fiber Reinforced Braided Winding Pipe (BWFRP Pipe)
Fiber Reinforced Braided Winding Pipe, also short for BWFRP Pipe, is a new-type fiber-reinforced composite conduit mainly made of alkali-free glass fiber and thermosetting resin matrix.
1. Manufacturing & Structure
It adopts an integrated continuous production process: online fiber braiding + cross winding + pultrusion curing. The pipe wall features a three-layer composite skeleton:
Inner cross braided fiber layer
Middle longitudinal & hoop winding reinforcing layer
Outer cross braided fiber layerMulti-directional fiber layout evenly distributes stress and greatly improves ring stiffness and impact resistance.
2. Core Advantages
Super insulation & flame retardant: Zero electric conductivity, ideal for power cable protection; self-extinguishing and heat-resistant.
Outstanding anti-corrosion: Resist acid, alkali, salt and underground chemical erosion, no rust like steel pipes.
Light weight & high strength: Much lighter than steel, easy for transportation and trench installation.
Smooth inner wall: Low friction loss, no cable scratching during threading.
Long service life: Stable performance underground for over 50 years, far longer than PVC, MPP or coated steel conduits.
Easy construction: Cuttable, flexible connection, low construction cost.
3. Main Applications
Widely used as underground cable protection ducts:
Urban power grid, highway & railway cable engineering
New energy charging pile, municipal reconstruction
Communication optical cable laying
Chemical plant, irrigation and drainage pipelines
